It has been absolutely a fantastic week at the New Designers Show in London. Such a variety amongst all the thousands of degree projects of the young designers. The atmosphere was fantastic, and the heat of the place! I mean really, it was like a sauna inside of the green house of the business centre (a tip to anyone who will ever exhibit there, minimal clothes are urgent)
But on the other note, Visitors have been absolutely amazing and I have been overwhelmed with all the lovely comments people have said to me. The excitement was coming from school kids who came around with their class, to families who were gathering information about what university would be the best (hope we managed to convince you to come to Edinburgh Napier University) and even industry professionals from materials and packaging companies could not hold back. I was absolutely over the moon.
And as a highlight of the week, Innovate UK even chose Colleggtion as a highlight of the show.
All 15 Highlighted projects have then been put on a special map of the shop that was given away to visitors – must say that my stand got pretty busy after that.
And on top of all, I’ve met a super lovely lady named Lucy Hughes who wrote an absolutely fantastic blog post about her experience at the New Designers show and how she noticed there was a lack of sustainable projects from all the prospective young designers – and I absolutely agree with her.
